Ganesh Stotra: Today, I will introduce you to one of the best prayers in Ganesh Paath– ‘Shri Sankat-Nashan Naam Ganesh Stotra’ which is taken from Narada Purana as a reference. This is said to be the most effective Ganesh strotra among all the prayers and mantras of Lord Ganesha.
It is said that before performing any event, family functions or travelling or spiritual ritual and even in Vaastu poojan one should recite this auspicious ‘Ganesh stotra’ which helps in removing the hurdles hence thereby elevating the material growth of individual and family.

I have been introduced to this stotram by one of my spiritual colleagues who has achieved a good level of spiritual growth by reciting this Ganesha stotram for 5 years. Let’s move with ‘Sankath-Nashan’ Ganesh Stotra saluting to the great DemiGod and absolute truth Lord Gajanan.
नारद उवाच (Naradji Says)
प्रणम्य शिरसा देवं गौरी विनायकम् । भक्तावासं स्मरेन्नित्यं आयुःकामार्थ सिद्धये ॥1॥
Pranmya Shirsa Devam Gauri Vinayakam Bhaktavasam Smer Nityamay Aayuha Kamarthsidhyaye ॥1॥
I bow down my head at the feet of Lord Ganesha – The son of Gauri who is also known as Vinayaka. Then the devotee of Lord Ganesha should daily recite this stotram for the blessing of Vinayaka for Long healthy life, fulfilling the desire of your life. Hence, one should recite his names on a daily basis.
प्रथमं वक्रतुडं च एकदंत द्वितीयकम् । तृतियं कृष्णपिंगात्क्षं गजववत्रं चतुर्थकम् ॥2॥
Pratham Vakra tudam cha Ekantant Dwitiyakam. Tritiya Krishna pingasaksam Gaja Vatram Chaturthar-kam ॥2॥
Lord Ganesha has different names in his salutations such as Prathamam – the one who is the absolute truth, who is first worshipped among DemiGods.
Second Name Ekdant – one who has one tooth, third is Krishna Pingaash means who has Krishna varna eyes – dark blackish eyes, Gajavaktram is the fourth name mean who has the Head of Elephant (elephant God ).
लम्बोदरं पंचमं च षष्ठं विकटमेव च। सप्तमं विघ्नराजं च धूम्रवर्णं तथाष्टमम्॥३॥
Lumbodaram Pancham Cha Sthathm Vikata Meva Cha Saptam Vighnarajendram Dhumvarna Tathasthak Mama ॥3॥
He (Almighty) is also known as Lambodar, one who has a big tummy, Vikataa (who is huge in shape), the seventh name is VignaRaja – who removed all types of hurdles /obstacles. Such Vignaraja (King god of hurdles remover) Eight names are DhumraVarna, those skin textures and body glory is like smoky white milk. I bow to the Godhead and Tathasthak – expect the divine blessing of Dhumravarna devta.
नवमं भाल चंद्रं च दशमं तु विनायकम् । एकादशं गणपतिं द्वादशं तु गजानन् ॥4॥
Navam Bhal Chandra Cham Cham Dasamam Tu Vinayakam. Ekadasham Ganapathim Dwadasham Tu Gajanan ॥4॥
Ninth name is BaalChandra – one who has a shining forehead like the glowing moon – full moon, the tenth name is Vinayaka who is said to be the God of Wisdom. The eleventh name is Ganapati who is head of Gan (people) and the twelfth name is Gajanan who is having a face and head of an elephant – here ‘Gaj’ means elephant and ‘aanan’ means face.
8 Benefits of Reciting Sankat Nashank Naam Ganesh Stotra
द्वादशैतानि नामानि त्रिसंघ्यंयः पठेन्नरः । न च विघ्नभयं तस्य सर्वसिद्धिकरं प्रभो ॥5॥
Dwade Shaitani Namani Trisanhyaya Pathenar Na Cha Vighnabhayyam Tasya Sarva siddhi Karam Prabho ॥5॥
One who recite these 12 divine names of Lord Ganesha, in trisandhya means 3 times a day, i.e early morning, afternoon and evening, such devotee does not get scared in a critical situation, s/he becomes fearless and devotees’ inner desire gets fulfilled in future.
विद्यार्थी लभते विद्यां धनार्थी लभते धनम् । पुत्रार्थी लभते पुत्रान्मोक्षार्थी लभते गतिम् ॥6॥
Vidarthi Labhate Vidhaym Dhanarthi Labhte Dhanam Putraarthi Labhte Puthanmo Kshrathi Labhte Gathim ॥6॥
By reciting this stotram, a student who has the desire to get good grades in the examination will get blessed with good memory and grasping power, one who desires to get financial stability and desire for wealth gets blessed with wealth and abundances.
One who desires for getting a blessing for the child (couples who wish to have a child), who is a practitioner of yoga and wishes for salvation and self-realization get blessed with samadhi Avastha (attaining higher consciousness).
जपेद्णपतिस्तोत्रं षडिभर्मासैः फलं लभते । संवत्सरेण सिद्धिंच लभते नात्र संशयः ॥7॥
Japeda Ganapati stotram Sthadi Bhasee Falam Labhate Samvat sareen Siddhin cha Labhte Natra Shanshaya ॥7॥
The one (devotee) who keeps reciting the stotram continuously for 6 months, gets his desire to fulfil whether it is material or spiritual desire. One who recites this stotram for one complete year with full faith gets blessed with health, wealth and complete siddhi (completeness), hence there is no doubt on this stotram.
अष्टभ्यो ब्राह्मणे भ्यश्र्च लिखित्वा फलं लभते । तस्य विद्या भवेत्सर्वा गणेशस्य प्रसादतः ॥8॥
Ashtabhayo Brahmane Bhyasr cha Likhi tawa falam labhate, Tasya Vidya Bhavet sarva Ganeshasya Prasadata ॥8॥
One who recites this ganesh stotra and also writes this stotram eight times on Bhojpatra and distributes it with Brahmins gets the completeness (whatever s/he desires to get things fructified according to his/her own wish). Such devotees also get blessed with wisdom and knowledge (spiritual science) by Lord Ganesha.
