History behind Mahakumbh Event

In Hindu Holy Text Veda, it is mentioned that, Vishnu spilled drops of amrita (the drink of immortality) at four locations, when he carried it to the form of a Kumbha (pot). These four sites, including Prayagraj is identified as the current locations that are part of Kumbh Mela.
